چکیده

Abstract Modeling of nano-structured plasmonic surfaces in optical range has attracted great attention recent research for its various properties such as filtering and enhanced transmission light. In this paper, we present a simple nanocircuit model that can be integrated CAD tools to design filters perfect absorbers FSS devices are based on through thin films structured by hole arrays. To illustrate the potential, applied it both circular square arrays silver film. The is demonstrated different structure parameters (hole size film thickness) frequencies. We show results compare numerical calculations obtained from COMSOL Multiphysics software with acceptable deviation achieves good matching previously reported experimental measurements.

Near-complete transmission through subwavelength hole arrays in phonon-polaritonic thin films

We report that phonon-polaritonic thin films with a periodic array of subwavelength holes allow nearcomplete transmission in the polariton gap where a homogeneous film completely suppresses transmission. We find that both propagating modes inside the subwavelength holes and surface resonances on the film interfaces play a crucial role in the transmission behavior. In the frequency range where b...

extraordinary transmission through subwavelength hole arrays

The recent history of the research and development around plasmon surface waves that was initiated by the work published in Nature in 1998 by Ebbesen et al. [1] looks like a ten-fold compressed version of studies initiated more than a century ago by Robert Wood with his discovery of anomalies in the efficiency of metallic diffraction gratings, now known as Wood’s anomalies [2]. In 1902, R. Wood...

Optical transmission through circular hole arrays in optically thick metal films.

In this paper we extend our theoretical treatment of the extraordinary optical transmission through hole arrays to the case of circular holes and beyond the subwavelength limit. Universal curves for the optical transmission in different regimes of the geometrical parameters defining the array are presented. Finally, we further develop the statement by showing that extraordinary transmission phe...

Exploring plasmonic coupling in hole-cap arrays

The plasmonic coupling between gold caps and holes in thin films was investigated experimentally and through finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) calculations. Sparse colloidal lithography combined with a novel thermal treatment was used to control the vertical spacing between caps and hole arrays and compared to separated arrays of holes or caps. Optical spectroscopy and FDTD simulations revea...

Coherence Converting Plasmonic Hole Arrays

Simulations are presented that demonstrate that the global state of spatial coherence of an optical wavefield can be altered on transmission through an array of subwavelength-sized holes in a metal plate that supports surface plasmons. It is found that the state of coherence of the emergent field strongly depends on the separation between the holes and their scattering strength. Our findings su...
